Speaker 1:

Welcome to today's program. The beauty of grace I'm pastor Pete Norris of harvest fellowship, church, Goldsboro, North Carolina. Today, we want to talk about no more religion. You know, how many times do you go to church and you hear do more, do more, do more, read, more, pray, more, pray, more fast, more, get more, do all the dues do, do do, do, do you know, the new covenant brings something that those under the law couldn't enjoy. And Hebrews chapter seven, verse 23 through 25 and the new international version. Now there have been many of those priests since death prevented them from continuing in office, but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to him, come to God through him because he always lives to intercede for them. Now you are saved as long as Jesus lives to intercede for you. Now, how many is Jesus ever going to stop interceding? He's never going to stop interceding. So how do you lose your salvation? How do you lose the right standing with God? You know, people say, well, pastor, if you sin willfully, well, you don't send accidentally all your sins or willfully never has a man had a, an adulterous affair and it just fell into it. It was an accident. He didn't, he just woke up and he was in the bed. That doesn't happen. You have to make a decision first in your mind to act upon whatever's in your heart. Anything you think about long enough, you'll do it because thoughts bring presence into your life. You know, in Hebrews chapter one, chapter 10, one through four in the new international version, the law is only a shadow of good things that are coming, not the realities themselves. For this reason, it can never, by the same sacrifice repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect. Those who draw near to worship otherwise, would they not have stopped. Being offered for the worshipers would have been cleaned and once and for all, and would no longer have felt guilty of their sins. But those sacrifices, aren't an annual reminder of sins. It's impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away SIM you know, why have a shadow when you can have a person? Sacrifice was good. Even under the old covenant for 365 days three, we animals blood. Now John said in John, one 29 behold, the lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. Now I want you to understand something. Jesus has a bloody economy, naughty apology economy ask forgiveness is not even in the Bible by the way. And I'm going to try and to shake your religion or shake your, your theology. I'm just letting you know, read the Bible and find, ask for forgiveness. It's not in there. Um, and the reality that he will forgive us and he has forgiven us, given us all of our iniquities, but ask for forgiveness is not in there. And we've taken first John chapter one, verse nine, and we made a religion out of it. We've always made a doctrine out of it. Now you say, pastor, do you believe in being forgiven of your sins? Absolutely I do. But I think forgiven forgiven is a text that is, I believe in repent. I'm not much on confessions and confession means home alone. God, everywhere in the new Testament means, say the same thing he said about your sins and that. So they're gone. They're done away with he's removed us from our sins and you can find it Hebrews chapter nine, verse 22 in the new international version. In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood and without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness. So the shedding of blood brings remission, the forgiveness cleansing, not apologizing or asking for forgiveness. The blood is confirmation, not feeling or repenting enough. How many scenes have you committed in your life? How many have you remembered to conveyance? It has to be about him and not about you. And I want you to see this year in Hebrews chapter 10, six through eight, 16 through 18 in the new international version. This is the covenant that we'll make with them. After that time says the Lord, I will put my laws in their hearts. I will write them on their minds. Then he adds their sins and lawless deeds. I will remember no more. And where there has been forgiven sacrifice of sin is no longer necessary. So he's telling us that we need to remove ourselves and continuously confessing our sins over and over and over and over. We spend so many times confessing. The Dessa Gentile mindset is I'll forgive you. When you show up at my house with an apology on your lips, tears in your eyes and saw was in your heart. See, that's what we want. That's what we think. And a lot of times people got born again or had an experience with God through condemnation. And the only way they know God's dealing with them is to have condemnation in their life. And it's not God at all because Jesus didn't come into the world to condemn the world. But that through him, the world might be saved. In other words, he's not here condemning, and he's not here. Judging need. He placed all God placed all his judgment, all of his wrath, all of his anger own Jesus. And he's not mad with you today. He's not upset with you today. He's not Torah. We need a day. So what physician are you regarding in your sins? You know, the Bible says in Romans chapter five, verse nine, much more than having been declared righteous were justified by his blood. We shall be saved from judgment through him. Now everybody's wanting to put judgment back on us and we want to bring these things back on us. But the bottom line is we have been freed from the firm that we've been he's made us alive. He's not just for giving us all of our sins. He's canceled the charge of any dead or imputed of seeing against us. In other words, he's made us alive. It's time to start living and enjoying the things of God. And let's have no more religion in the church, throw religion out the window. Let's enjoy the goodness of God and enjoy what Jesus did on the cross. He did a finished work and you're in our free, right? That's the beauty of grace.
